19 Weeks!

1:43 PM Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »
Today I'm 19 weeks and Baby K is the size of a mango.  I got to hear Baby K's heart beat earlier this week at my 18 week appointment.  He was sure moving around in there!  My doc would get his heartbeat and then he'd move away.  Get his heartbeat again for a few seconds and he was gone.  Haha.  So the doc said his heartbeat was somewhere between 155-160.

Everything is going great!  Well, besides my freakout on Friday night.  I'm not even sure if this is related to the pregnancy or not but my shoulder started aching really bad and every time I moved it, even an inch I would feel a searing pain run through my shoulder.  It hurt sooo bad.  It started around 8 p.m on Friday night and I had no idea why it was happening.  I hadn't lifted anything heavy or done anything funny.  So I went to bed hoping it would be fine in the morning.  I woke up around midnight in a panic.  It got even worse.  I couldn't even turn over without screeching in pain.  I woke Phil up from my screeching and crying.  Eventually my hand started to feel tingly and numb which worried me even more.  So it was the middle of the night and I was in a panic wondering if I need to go to the hospital or not.  I was guessing it was a pinched nerve or something but my mind was freaking me out thinking it might be a blood clot.  Anyways, I eventually just laid still so I didn't move my arm and fell back asleep after a few hours.  I woke up and it felt much better.  Don't get me wrong, my shoulder still hurts today but there is no more intense pain.  Who knows if this was baby related but it was scary.

I've been on a role lately preparing for Baby K.  As you know I bought the crib and changing table.  The changing table came in the mail a few days ago and Phil and I put it together.  I can't wait to get the crib!  I also ordered a glider this week.  I found a super good deal online and they were offering free shipping!  Whoot whoot!  So I bought that and just 3 days later I received that in the mail too!  Yesterday morning I went to the Munchkin Market at the MN State Fairgrounds with my friends Jewells and Rach.  They were having a huge consignment sale on baby stuff.  Well, we didn't get there early enough for the big stuff but we all found some good stuff.  I got a few outfits, some sippy cups, booties (which I found on the floor this morning all chewed up - thank you stupid cat for knocking them off the table and giving them to Winston), and a bobby pillow.  After the Munchkin sale Rach said we should hit Once Upon a Child.  Good thing because we all scored there!  I got Baby K a bouncer and swing for less than half the regular price and they look almost brand new.  This made it a very successful day!  Plus hanging out with friends is always fun! :)

Only one more week and one day and we'll know the sex!  I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!

The cleaning task I hate

2:45 PM Posted In , , , Edit This 2 Comments »

So I decided to clean the refrigerator on Saturday because it was GROSS. We seriously haven’t cleaned it since September. The only reason I remember this is because we got married in September and we cleaned the entire house because people would be coming over and staying with us. And who wants to look into a nasty dirty fridge? (I realize this might make me sound like I never clean my house – but I do. It’s generally pretty clean – I just hate the fridge) So anyways, this was one of my many small projects that needed to be done. I think it took me about an hour and a half to clean the fridge and the rest of the kitchen. There were some things in Tupperware that I really wasn’t sure what they were anymore… After I was done I just had to take a picture. This fridge basically has nothing but condiments and pop. We went grocery shopping the next day. :)

18 Weeks!

Wow this pregnancy is flying by! Today I'm 18 weeks and Baby K is the size of a sweet potato! Now he can hear all sorts of sounds including blood coursing through the umbilical cord, my growling tummy, and my heartbeat. In fact, sudden or loud noises may startle him. He's also developing yawning and hiccupping skills which I might feel soon.

I've been feeling about the same, nothing new except more heartburn. I thought I felt the baby a few times but I'm not sure. I can't wait until I feel his movements and know for sure that it's him! Hopefully this is the week.

I have my next doctor appointment this week and I'm excited to hear his heartbeat again. Then two weeks after this appointment is our ultrasound and we find out the sex!! I cannot wait for that. I can't believe that's only 2 weeks away!

As you know from a previous post I purchased Baby K's crib and changing table earlier this week. It was funny because when I left that morning I told Phil I was going to find the best deal online or buy the crib I liked at Target this week. Magically I found that great deal on zulily that same day! I can't wait for it to come! I've also got a few maternity shirts and other maternity clothes coming in the mail this week. I hope the maternity jeans fit because I can't wear the normal jeans I'm wearing much longer!

Get Shit Done!

I’m crabby. Want to know why? No? Well, I’m going to tell you anyways. I am in a “get shit done” mood lately, especially today. But can I stay at home and get shit done? Nope. I have to work. There are so many projects to get done around the house that it’s overwhelming. Tons of small projects and some large projects. It’s not very often that I am in the mood to get these types of projects done but I am today. By the time I get home I won’t want to do these projects. I’ll be tired and want to watch How I Met your Mother. Wanna bet that tomorrow, on my day off, I’ll have no energy and won’t care about getting shit done? I hope I’m still in the mood tomorrow but let's face it, I probably won't be.

I just want to say that I love zulily.com and I recommend it to all moms and soon to be moms! They have really good deals that tempt me every day but yesterday was my first purchase. Phil and I discussed buying our crib and changing table this week. I’m a planner so I like to check as many things off the list as possible (even if it’s early). Over the weekend I went to a few stores and checked out prices. I left work yesterday and told Phil I would look for the best deal online and if I couldn’t find anything better than I would just buy the crib and changing table from Target that I liked. I get to work, check my email and in zulily’s deals for the day were cribs and changing tables!! I obviously checked it out and it really was a great deal. I bought a crib and changing table for less than I would have spent at Target for the one I would have bought there. I even had to pay $63.90 in shipping and it was still much less expensive! Yay for 55% off!! That is a major check off the list and I am quite excited to put them together and get going on the nursery! :)

17 Weeks!

I'm 17 weeks today and Baby K is the size of a pear! He's getting so big!! Not much to report this week. I finally gave in and went maternity clothes shopping. Ugh, they sure don't make many options for short people. Not everyone is 5'6" or taller people!!! So I only bought one pair of maternity dress pants. But I found a bunch of shirts and one dress though.

Baby K is developing some baby fat this week! His arms, legs, and trunk have caught up to the size of his head and he's also practicing sucking and swallowing this week.

Only 3 more weeks until we find out the sex!!!

16 Weeks!

I'm 16 weeks today and Baby K is now the size of an avocado. Apparently he's supposed to go into a growth spurt in the next few weeks. :) Not much to report this week. I've been feeling pretty much the same. Still tired but I do have more energy than I did. I still get up 4-5 times a night to pee (I can't wait until that lets up). And I still don't look forward to figuring out something to eat for supper. Nothing sounds good and what sounds ok takes forever to make and I really could care less about cooking these days. So, I eat whatever is easy and what doesn't make me want to vomit. The only thing new this week is that my hips and my lower back started hurting. Wow, the hip pain sucks. So I decided to start going to the chiropractor. After two adjustments my hip pain has mostly gone away.

Only 4 more weeks and one day until we get to find out the sex! I cannot stinkin wait! I've been looking at nursery ideas and there are so many cute ideas to chose from!

FYI - I feel very large in this picture but I did just eat a ton for Easter dinner. So that's not all baby.

15 Weeks!

There is much more to report this week! Today I'm 15 weeks along, however, baby has been measuring at 15 weeks for 3 days now. Baby K is the size of an apple or orange (depending on your source). I had my 14 week appointment earlier this week and I asked the doc why I'm so large so soon. He agreed that I seem a little large for 14 weeks and decided to do an ultrasound to make sure there was only one little bean in there. I was quite excited to be getting an ultrasound that same day because I've been wondering about twins for a few weeks now and I was very excited to see the baby for the first time. Looks like there is just one little bean in there though!! That's a load off Phil's shoulders I'm sure. ;) Baby is healthy and his heartbeat was 154. I can't believe we will find out the sex in only 5 more weeks! This week facial expressions are baby's newest trick. He can frown, squint, grimace and wince!

Things to note this month: 1. I’ve been listening to country music again – hard core. I used to listen to country music when I was a kid and I like to hear it from time to time but now that’s all I want to listen to. The only time I listen to something different on the radio now is when I’m listening to the Dave Ryan in the Morning Show. That’s it. I think this baby is making me miss my old country roots. I miss the farm days. 2. Supper time hasn’t been going too well. Nothing sounds good for supper. Maybe that’s because there is no food in the house and what limited choices I do have, are all gross. 3. Certain “people” are really starting to drive me up the wall. I’m sure my hormones aren’t helping me because I’m close to a major blow up and that wouldn’t be a good idea. 4. I could go for ice cream at any time of the day. I can’t get enough. I must be lacking in calcium. ;) 5. I've been getting nasty headaches constantly and I don't like taking anything for them. So, most of the time I just deal with it. 5. The urge to pee seems to be getting worse, not better like it's supposed to be. The last few nights I've been getting up 5 times to pee!! 5 times a night is crazy!! Ugh!
