Mother's Day

Last weekend I got to enjoy my very first Mother’s Day. I feel so incredibly blessed to be able to
call myself this little guy’s momma. He
means the world to me and I can’t imagine my life without him. :)
I was looking forward to Mother’s Day so I could sleep in. Phil has only gotten up with Remy one day in the last 7+ months. I don’t mind getting up because he’s so cute and happy in the morning and I don’t like sleeping in too late because then I feel like the day is half over already. But to sleep until 8:00 was my goal. Rem usually wakes up sometime between 6:15-7:30 so Phil was going to get up with him but the little stinker slept in until 8:00! He was my alarm clock. :) Phil is lucky he didn’t have to get up early!
I was also looking forward to Mother's Day just because I wanted to spend the day with my little family and do something fun - no cleaning, no laundry, no sitting at home. Those things could wait.

Phil made me some yummy waffles for breakfast and I slowly
got ready for my day. It was so nice to
be able to enjoy my coffee and take a nice long shower and not worry about Remy
needing something because Phil was watching him. Around noon we were off. We grabbed some Subway on our way to the Como
Zoo and had ourselves a little picnic outside on the grass. Then we walked around the zoo and enjoyed the
great outdoors! There were barely any
animals outside so the zoo was pretty boring but it was just nice to be out and
about. Remy loved the zoo. He was squealing with delight! I honestly don’t think he noticed any of the
animals – he just liked all the people and being outside. After the zoo we headed to Hudson and walked
down by the river and got some frozen yogurt at the new place downtown,
Freestyle yogurt (or something of that sort).
Apparently mothers got free ice cream that day so that was really nice! Then we swung by Phil’s mom’s house for a
quick visit and then went home to watch a movie and enjoy some Savoy’s pizza
(my favorite).
Phil got me a ring for Mother’s Day but I don’t have it
yet. I should be getting it this week or
early next week. I’ll post a pic once I get
it. It’s super cute (I picked it out)! Then Remy made me a cute little Mother’s Day
gift with the assistance of his auntie Jewells (also his daycare lady). It was so sweet! Phil also was going to make something but
didn’t have time. Apparently I’ll be
getting that later this week too. Phil’s
a procrastinator. ;)
It was such a nice day!
I wonder what Phil will want to do on Father’s Day. :) Some pics from my special day:
