This last weekend was both great and horrible. It started off great with a dress fitting. The dress is even better than I remember. Maybe I just thought it was better because it actually fit me instead of being 2 sizes too big. Either way, I love it. She just needs to add the buttons so I can bustle it and then finish a few minor things and then I get to pick it up! But then I need to find a dry cleaner… Now that I’m quite nervous about. I don’t even want to think about that yet.
Saturday I want shopping with my gal pals. It was quite nice to hang out with just us girls – no boys or kids. I feel like we haven’t done that in a long ass time. I found a few things, like my bachelorette dress or the one I’ll wear to Loin’s bachelorette party and I found a dress to wear to my bridal shower. Two more checks off my list! After I got home from shopping I relaxed for a tiny bit and then Phil and I went to Bart’s (Rachel’s hubby) family reunion/pig roast. It was nice to see them both. I don’t remember the last time I saw Bart… it might have been at their wedding, which was a few years ago!
Sunday was when it got horrible. I woke up and decided to keep my mind occupied since I knew it would be an emotional day so I cleaned the house from top to bottom. By noon, I was exhausted. I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster all day. One minute I’m sad, then I’m crabby, then I’m angry, then back to sad. So, I didn’t go with Phil to his mom’s house to visit with the family. I just couldn’t be social. This was my second father’s day without my dad. You would think it would get easier with time but it doesn’t. I get sad and miss him any day but dates like father’s day and his birthday are very difficult. There are things I still can’t do and things that I find I’m finally ready to do. One thing I can’t do is delete his phone number from my phone. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to do that. I also can’t visit his gravesite or walk over to the bins where he fell. But something I found I was ready to do was to drive a way home from New Richmond that I thought I’d never be able to do again. I’m sure you think that is weird… But the last time I talked to my dad – the night before the accident – I called him on my way home from New Richmond. I talked to him the whole way home. There are many different ways you can take from New Richmond to Baldwin. However, my favorite way, the way I used to go, I couldn’t take anymore because it hurt too much. However, last week, after a year and a half, I took that route. It was difficult but nice at the same time. It gave me a little bit of time to cry, laugh, remember and miss him. Sometimes I feel like I’m a zombie because I don’t like to feel. I choose to ignore things that will make me get emotional and feel and I go out of my way to make sure that it doesn’t happen. I don’t want to be like that. I guess I’m writing this blog for myself. It sometimes feels good to get my feelings out – even when I’m not really talking to anyone.

So I have nothing to write about. My life is boring. I think of things to blog about randomly all the time but in that moment I can’t blog about it. Then when I finally have time to blog I can’t stinkin remember what it was I wanted to blog about! So I’ll just chat about what went on over the weekend. Friday after work I went garage saleing with Jewells. I got a dining room table/chairs for $80. Not too shabby since the chairs are solid oak and in perfect condition.
Saturday I went to Ikea with Jewells. I was on a mission for picture frames and I ended up buying much more than that! Oops. I love Ikea! Then we went to Target where I bought Phil a present just because. Then Joann Fabrics where I found 4 baskets 50% off. I needed them for the new cube-shelf thinger I got at Ikea. I was going to get baskets at Ikea but they were so expensive! Good thing I didn’t buy them there because I saved about $40 going to Joann Fabrics! After shopping I went home and spent most of the evening watching Gilmore Girls. :-) FYI – I love the Gilmore Girls – I am addicted – I wish they would just hurry up and make a movie already!
Sunday I went floating down the Apple River with a bunch of friends (Phil, Jimmy P, Josh, Loin, Dan and Gerber). I’m mad at the sun… It is blazing hot ALL week and then Sunday comes and it is just okay out. Wasn’t really tubing weather but we went anyways. It wasn’t horrible but it was chilly. Then we had a little barbeque at Josh & Loins and then went home. That was my weekend. Now I’m off to go see my Monday crew! Until next time (I’ll try to have a more interesting blog next time)!

Friday after work Jewells and I went shopping in Woodbury where I proceeded to spend a little too much money. Then we met Lynsie at Applebee’s and had some dinner before going to see Sex and the City 2! I was super excited to see this movie. I thought that it was good but not amazingly good. I thought it was kinda weird that most of the movie was based in Abu Dhabi, not NYC.
Saturday I spent the majority of the day cleaning. All I have to say is my dogs piss me off. Don’t get me wrong, I love them, but if I didn’t, I would send them packing! If I didn’t have dogs I wouldn’t have to mop all the dang time and wash the blankets as much. My soon to be golden retriever sure won’t pee in the house! He will be potty trained ASAP! Speaking of golden retrievers… I had a chance to purchase one now but Phil said no. :’( I understand that it would be stressful to get one now since we will be moving in 1-2 months and we are not sure where we will be at. BUT I want him now! I have been waiting to get him since I moved away from home 5 years ago! *sigh* Hopefully I will get him in a few months.
Sunday Phil and I went to Ikea and the MOA. It was nice to spend time with Phil and get out of the house. We took our time walking around the mall and went out to eat. By the time we got home I was exhausted.
Monday. Phil – if you are reading this I’m sorry. I was quite crabby. I should have been in a good mood since I didn’t have to go to work but no… I was crabby, all day.
Any who, that was my weekend. I have a few things to look forward to this week. Tomorrow night we are going out for dinner to celebrate Rachel’s 24th birthday! Then Thursday I’m going out to dinner with my Aunt Laura to catch up. This weekend is Good Neighbor Days so we will probably head down to Roberts on Friday or Saturday night. We should also find out more about our house this week. I talked to the realtor for the seller today and she said that the seller wants to rent the house out to us until we can get the bank to finalize everything and close. I’m not sure on the details yet but that is good news. Phil and I are willing to rent as long as we know 100% that we are getting the house in the long run. We don’t want to start renting it and then lose it in the long run. There is work that needs to start when we move in and I don’t want to waste my time and money. So hopefully by the end of the week we will know more. Until next time…

So yesterday I went shopping after work because I had a $20 thingamabob from Kohl’s due to the fact that I spent so much money a couple weeks prior to that. The $20 of free money was only good until January 2nd so I decided I’d better go spend it quickly or I’d loose it! I knew for sure that I’d find some good buys at Kohl’s since I always find stuff there. So I was in the dressing room trying on clothes and I was pulling a pair of tight black leggings up when I looked down and saw white stuff on the crotch of the leggings. I paused and looked closer. It was someone else’s vag juice! GROSS! Let’s just say those leggings didn’t get past my knees and threw them as far away from me as possible. Seriously people, wear underwear when you are trying on clothes! And if you are wearing underwear, make sure they fit. Ugh… After that incident was over I continued my shopping and got a few great things! I got a new pair of shoes, which I am wearing right now, a few Christmas items which I will get to use next year, all 70% off, and a new jacket which I am in love with! I don’t get to wear the jacket until it is at least 30 degrees out because it is a little bit thinner but I can’t wait to wear it! I had gotten a gift certificate from the attorneys I work for so I basically didn’t pay for a single thing yesterday!

Sorry it has been a while since I have written a decent blog. I have been a very busy lady the last few weeks with homework and life. Plus, I don’t really have much to talk about. Let’s start with an update of what happened last week. Phil and I had another date night at the Orchard last Friday night. It is incredibly nice to have a decent restaurant within a few miles of our house. Then Saturday we went over to Phil’s mom’s house where we had a family picnic. Phil’s sister, Val was in town (she lives in Portland) and she brought her boyfriend Eduardo over with her so we could all meet him. Eduardo is from Peru and he speaks Spanish. He does speak English fairly well but I can’t always understand him. lol Val speaks Spanish too and I can’t understand a word they are saying when they start talking. Overall the picnic was very nice. Lots of great food and family. :) I have become very fond of my future in-laws. I’m hoping I can get Phil talked in to taking a vacation in February and going up to Portland to visit both of his sisters. We both need a vacation and it would be nice to see his sisters again. Plus we have never been to Portland and I have heard it is very pretty over there. Anyways, then on Sunday we did a little shopping in Woodbury and then headed to the Minnesota State Fair. I gained like two pounds from all the food we ate but it was worth it! We had gyros, cheese curds, ice cream, and of course cotton candy. You can never go to the fair and not get cheese curds or cotton candy! Then we met up with some friends and headed over to see the talent show. Phil and I only stayed for half of it because I could tell it wasn’t Phil’s thing. I think next year we will skip the fair. Maybe do it every other year or something. I just don’t like all the people! It was jam packed and you could barely walk around! Then Monday came along and I went on a little shopping trip with my friend Jewells. It feels like it has been forever since I last went shopping! I got a cute new necklace (which I am wearing right now), a couple new pairs of earrings, two zip up hoodies (both under 8 bucks!), 2 new pairs of pajama bottoms (because Phil HATES my comfy sweat pants), a free pair of undies from Victoria Secret, and a pretty new shirt for work. Then Tuesday it is back to work… and now it is finally Friday. :) Last night Phil and I went and looked at 5 houses. 2 were in Hammond and 3 were in Baldwin. I liked 2 of the houses that were in Baldwin and Phil only liked the 1 and only house I hated. This whole house hunting thing is going to take forever since Phil and I have completely different taste. He hates split level houses, and I don’t really care, it doesn’t bother me one bit. If we are going to buy in town we want a newer house and pretty much all the new houses in our price range are split level. Tonight Phil and I are going to go to the Hammond Hotel. I like going to the small town restaurants. Then Saturday and Sunday I have no plans! I’m so excited to be able to do whatever I want! Except for the fact that I have to do homework. But I’ve only got one more week after this weekend! Then I finally get a tiny break! What else do I have to talk about…. you know, I can’t really think of anything else at the moment. I guess that is all for now.

Why is that having a 3 and a half day weekend off from work with nothing to do so excellent?! My weekend was quite fabulous! I did whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. There was no time limit on anything and nothing planned. That doesn’t happen very often, especially in the summer and especially when I have a long weekend off from work. I now get off work at 12:00 on Fridays for the rest of the summer! After work on Friday I went home, did a little homework, did a little cleaning, took a nap and then headed back to Hudson to get Phil. Then I treated him to some Olive Garden. I love Olive Garden but damn it is getting more and more expensive! But I guess it is worth it every so often.
Saturday I slept in as late as I possibly could and I did some more homework, then did some more cleaning then spent the rest of the day with my friend Jewells. We went rollerblading on Saturday and Sunday. It was a good time, I love rollerblading. We sure put on some miles! My legs hate me but they will forgive me when they look more toned. I’m hoping to keep this up and go a couple times a week. It is good exercise!
Sunday I cut Phil’s hair and then cut the dogs hair. Phil was first and that didn’t take long. We decided to buzz it all down. I think he looks like a military man now. :) (Although he hates it when I say that) Then we did Precious and she is easy as pie. We waited to do Vader last…. probably not a good idea. I was already getting tired of cutting hair and he is the most difficult dog in the frickin’ world to cut! After much time and a few meltdowns we finally got him looking decent. He still needs more hair cut but he won’t allow that. So it is good enough for me.
Jewells and I also spent our weekend catching up on our TV shows. We had 12 shows in all to catch up on! 12 shows! That is like 10 hours of TV! We got it down to 2 shows…. the Lost 2 hour finale is the only one left. I was quite disappointed with the season finale of Grey’s Anatomy. I won’t talk about it in case some of you haven’t watched it yet but it was good/frustrating/sad and all of the above. I guess only the good finales will leave you feeling frustrated and mad.
Monday Jewells and I went and did a little shopping and I bought 3 dresses, two shirts and a jacket. I basically doubled the amount of dresses I own. Yay for me! I am excited to wear them to work but it is too cold out today. Maybe later in the week. They keep it so damn cold in this joint!!! It only gets warm in here when it is 80+ degrees outside.
Anyways… I missed the rest of my friends this Monday and I hope to see them all this weekend! It is Good Neighbor Days in Roberts. Should be a good time!

Lets start off by saying that I had an EXCELLENT time this weekend with my girls! On Saturday we went to the Mall of America to do a little shopping. Well, I guess I should say a lot of shopping since we were probably there for a good 7 hours. I bought 3 pairs of pants, 4 shirts, a new pair of shoes and some new undies. I think that’s all… I’m wearing my new shoes today. :) Three of the new shirts I bought I have to wait until it gets warmer out to wear… Poo… I like to wear all my new stuff right away! But I guess I’d rather not be cold at work.
After our wonderful day of shopping we went out dancing. We all had a good ol time! :-) I wish I wouldn’t have drank the last drink though. I woke up with a slight hangover. Plus my knees and legs hurt sooo bad the next morning! I am very badly out of shape. :( That is the next thing I think I’ll work on. Since I have a desk job, it is hard to keep the weight off. And since the weather has been so crappy and cold, I haven’t gone on a nice long walk since last fall! I have tried a few different workouts but nothing has seemed to work. Any ideas?
Phil and I had a talk about buying a house. We have had this talk many times before and it always ends badly. This time however, it didn’t! It actually went pretty good. I told him that I wanted to go talk to a realtor and see what we could afford right now and look at some houses. He is still pretty iffy about buying a house right now but he said he wouldn’t mind talking to a realtor and seeing what we can come up with for monthly payments. I know we could afford to buy a house right now and I think if he talked to the realtor he would believe me. I think that if I get him to look at some houses, he will probably get excited about it. Plus, sometimes it takes a while to find a house. Our lease isn’t up until November but it might take that long to find a house that we really like. Does anyone know of any good realtors? We thought of starting with Westconsin Credit Union because we both bank there. We don’t know anything about mortgage loans and all that stuff so we don’t want to get screwed. We want someone who will be honest with us. Honesty... does that even exist in the real estate business?
Phil and I decided to start having a date night every Friday night because we want to put some more “excitement” into our relationship. We have been doing the same old thing everyday for the last couple years and it was getting old. We rarely went out on “dates” and we got use to sitting at home all weekend. However, I don’t want our date night to be the same thing every Friday night. I need some more ideas of some things we can do. We can obviously go out to eat and go to the movies but what other fun things can we do that don’t cost too much money? Once summer comes it will be easier to find things to do but for now I’m stumped! HELP!
This weekend my Mom and little sister are coming to visit! I’m so excited to see them! I haven’t seen them since Christmas. I guess JackiLynn has learned to walk and she likes to talk a lot too, even though she is the only one who understands what she’s saying. She will be so much fun! I will be sure to take lots of pictures!
Well, that is all until next time. :-)
